Damping adaptor of air filter for IC engines

There is a way to increase the efficiency of air filters! This is the application of the damping adapter the "deaf filter". The deaf filter reduces the swings originating from the engine operation, and increases filter performance at the same time. The deaf filter can be installed mostly inside the normal air filter cartridge.

The evaluation of engine wear and instrumental anaysis of used engine oil samples draw the attention to the fact that dust can drift through most of the applied air filters independent of their make. The cause of dust migration is the swing originating from the engine, which according to investigations can very frequently appear at the clean side of the filter.

In case of turbocharged engines the swings are generated under lower load and engine brake working conditions. The damping of swings before the air filter proved to be the most effective solution to this problem. The adapter is especially effective in air filters installed directly onto the carburettor.
